About HIAF

HOUSE MUSIC · TWITCH DJs · REAL COMMUNITY

OG spirit. New connections. One shared dance floor.

House Is A Feeling

HiAF is a community of house music DJs, Twitch DJ streamers, and the people who love the music. We play live, share discoveries, raid into each other’s channels, and bring that connection into real-life gatherings.

We carry the spirit of late ’90s and 2000s raves and warehouse parties: deep grooves, long journeys, familiar faces, and room for somebody new. OGs and newer DJs belong here together. A love of the music is what connects us.

The feeling is the point. The music moves us, and the community keeps it going.

THE MUSIC

Let the records lead

House is our home. We value thoughtful selections, a set that takes you somewhere, and DJs who love sharing what they hear. Respect for the roots can sit right beside curiosity about what comes next.

THE PEOPLE

Stronger together

We share audiences, knowledge, encouragement, and the work behind the scenes. Every DJ, moderator, organizer, listener, and dancer helps make the feeling possible.

THE WELCOME

Old school heart. Open doors.

You don’t need decades behind the decks to appreciate the OG vibe. Experienced selectors and emerging DJs learn from each other, with respect for the people who built the culture.

THE CONNECTION

From Twitch chat to the dance floor

Our DJs stream live on Twitch, where the music comes with conversation, familiar names, and new friendships. Raid trains keep us moving together; IRL events give us a chance to finally share a hug and a dance.

It takes a village

HiAF founder Kat brings the same spirit she experienced in a Burning Man camp: around 100 volunteers working toward one shared goal. Everybody had something to contribute, and the result belonged to everyone.

That sense of participation lives here, too. Playing a set, welcoming a newcomer, helping with a stream, or showing up for another DJ all matter. We make the experience together.

ROOTS & RESPECT

The feeling has a history

House music’s roots reach back well before the raves many of us grew up with, to Black and LGBTQ+ dance-floor communities and places such as Chicago’s Warehouse. Keeping the spirit alive means remembering those roots and making room for the next generation.

BACK TO THE FEELING · FROM OUR ARCHIVES

Every flier has a story

We’re developing an Instagram archive series around Kat’s collection of hundreds of old rave fliers, records, rave clothes, and kandi bracelets. Each piece is a way back into the music and the people who made those nights.

The idea: tell the story behind a flier, spotlight the DJs, revisit a record, and invite your memories into the conversation. Then connect those roots with the DJs and Twitch communities carrying the feeling forward today.

THE NEXT CHAPTER

A local feeling, connected everywhere

We’re already bringing the online community together in real life. Our bigger dream is a network of regional House Is A Feeling events, organized by local teammates who know their own scenes.

Inspired by the way regional Burns bring a shared culture home, each gathering would have its own local flavor and the same heart: music, participation, care, and community. This is a goal we’re building toward, with future regions and events to be announced.
